The first performance was a percussion piece titled “Trio Per Uno: Movement 1” by Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic.

The next performance was Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copland.

Xylophone soloist Tad Carpenter performed “Xylophonia”. Then there was an intermission.

After the intermission, the Spirit of Troy performed two of my favorite pieces. The guest conductor of both pieces was Dontay Douglas. The first was “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by Paul Dukas.
video 9007
The second was “Night on Bald Mountain” by Modest Mussorgsky.

video 9013Then, the rest of the Spirit of Troy marched into the auditorium. The USC Song Girls, USC Silks, and USC Dance Force also came to perform. The Spirit of Troy played “FIGHT ON” and the Song Girls and Dance Force danced.

video 9023Dr. Jacob Vogel had the audience sing our USC Alma Mater. During the singing, our Spirit of Troy found out from the audience that our Women of Troy Basketball Team beat Baylor 74-70. Our team advanced to the Final Four! Dr. Vogel also announced that we won our game and that UCLA lost their game.

What a way to finish the Spirit of Troy Spring Concert!
