0470Congratulations to our Half Century Trojans Events Chair, Larry Londre, on being awarded the “Widney Alumni House Volunteer Award”. He will be awarded at the USC Voluntary Recognition Dinner on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Town and Gown.

Many thanks to Bob Frinier for nominating Larry for the award and for Charla Tindall in her effort to honor Larry with a tribute ad in the digital program book. Thanks to our members for contributing to her effort.

Now it is time to introduce you to our fellow HCT member Larry. I just met Larry in person last night at the USC Salute to Troy. He walked over to meet me.

Larry grew up in Ladera Heights and graduated from Loyola High School. At our University of Southern California (USC), he attended and earned the Dean’s List as an undergraduate and graduate student at both Marshall and Annenberg Schools. Larry has worked in Senior Marketing, Advertising, and Business Strategies and has been an Adjunct Professor, Senior Lecturer, a Presenter, and an Advertising Consultant. Just a few of the companies that Larry has worked for are DIRECTV, City of Los Angeles, State of California, Southern California Edison, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, and Security Pacific National Bank.

Now, let’s list Larry’s volunteer activities at USC. In 1968-1971, Larry volunteered at Carver Community Center and East Costello Park for USC, teaching fifth and six graders to read and do math. He’s been involved in numerous volunteer activities for USC including every SCervice Day since 2012; Co-Chair of USC's Class of 1971 50th Reunion Program, and Events host of several Trojan SCupper's mentoring events, celebrating USC's traditions and transformation, part of USC Alumni Association (USCAA) and Society 53.
