Tuesday, May 2, 2023---USC Baseball vs CSU Long Beach at Angel Stadium

My husband Jim and I bought tickets to the USC baseball game vs Cal State University Long Beach at Angel Stadium, because each ticket allowed us to get a free ticket to an Angels baseball game. We arrived at Angel Stadium a little early to get good seats. Once the stadium opened, Jim and I decided to walk down to the third base side. That was lucky for us, because that is where other Trojans were sitting. CSU Long Beach fans sat along the first base line.

The scoreboard showed our game.
This digital banner was displayed periodically.

The first USC batter on the big screen was Austin Overn.
Austin swung at a pitch.
The next USC batter was Bryce Marten-Grudzielanek.

Carson Wells was next on the big screen.
Carson watched as the ball went by.
In the second inning, I missed Johnny Olmstead's picture on the big screen. Here he is waiting for the pitch.
Johnny reached first base on a single.
Ethan Hedges was on the big screen.
Ethan singled. He was taking a lead off first base.
Johnny Olmstead was on 2nd, and Ethan Hedges was on 1st.
Our next batter was Nick Lopez.
Nick hit a foul ball. Eventually he struck out.
Cole Gabrielson was up next.
Cole was waiting for the next pitch. He struck out swinging.
Our next batter was Jacob Galloway.
Jacob was waiting for the pitch. He flied out to the leftfielder to end the inning.
In the top of the third inning, USC Coach Andy Stankiewicz and the infield huddled at the mound.
With two outs and Cal State Long Beach leading by 6-0, Jaden was replaced by Fisher Johnson. Fisher retired the last batter.
Ryan Jackson was the leadoff batter in the bottom of the third inning.
Ryan struck out swinging.
In the top of the fourth inning, right-handed pitcher Fisher Johnson warmed up on the mound.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, with two outs, Jacob Galloway singled.
Luca DiPaolo was the last USC batter Trojan Candy took a picture of on the big screen.
Luca was batting in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Unfortunately, our Trojans lost to Cal State Long Beach 8-4.

We’ll FIGHT ON the next game.

Tuesday, May 2, 2023---Meet USC Football Head Coach Lincoln Riley

This morning Trojan Candy attended the May Town & Gown luncheon meeting in the dining room of Town and Gown. As soon as I arrived, I set up my camera in the crowded dining room of Town and Gown. Four hundred Town & Gown members were expected to hear the guest speaker Football Head Coach Lincoln Riley.
