Tuesday, October 3, 2023---USC TGLA at First 2023-2024 Town and Gown Meeting

Trojan Candy arrived at the patio outside Town and Gown for the first 2023-2024 meeting of Town & Gown.

6450
After checking in, I saw two familiar faces in the patio. They were Valerie Sampson and her friend Kim Sase.

After I took their picture, Trojan Candy walked inside Town and Gown to set up my video camera. After setting up my camera and putting my stuff at my table, I walked outside to the patio to take more pictures.

6453
The first USC TGLA friends and Town and Gown members I saw posed for me. Standing were Julie Pircher, Ann Palmer, and Caren Walley Edler. Sitting were Carol Thueson and Mari Edler.
6454
Then I walked over to the check-in table again. Smiling for me was USC TGLA Co-President Jean Getchell.
6458
Near the entrance, Trojan Candy saw many USC TGLA friends. Linda Waxman smiled for this nice picture.
6462
Suzanne Stillman, Jeanne Ruderman and Diane Morgan posed next for Trojan Candy.
6464
At the table to the left were Patti Jamgotchian, Mary Hall, and Carol Wright.
6466
Trojan Candy walked diagonally to the “Problem table.” USC TGLA friends Cheryl Schwartz and Rose Sapia posed with Kari May, the “Problem Solver.”
6469
Hugging each other were Sharon Dolezal Wood and Diane Morgan.
6471
Smiling in my next picture were Marilou Hamill, Ann Palmer, Marilyn Kezirian, and Beth Petak-Aaron.
6472
In front of the outdoor umbrellas were Town and Gown members Nancy Dreier and Michele Engemann.
6475
Under an umbrella were USC TGLA member Juel Collins and friend Jerry Ensom.
6483
Ann Palmer was all over the Town and Gown patio. She posed again with Ann Proctor and Patricia Mar.
6489
Then, Ann and Patricia posed with two USC TGLA friends D’Arcy McLeod and Sandy Johnston.

Now, Trojan Candy walked inside to take more pictures.

6492
Sitting at my table were Kim Sase, Valerie Sampson, and Evelyn Wilson.
6495
USC TGLA member Christine Ofiesh and Palma Vincenti both smiled for my picture.
6498
Trojan Candy saw more USC TGLA members sitting at their tables. Juel Collins, Nikki Dana, and JoAnne Polite posed for this picture.
6500
Nikki then walked over to Mary Hall.
6514
Trojan Candy finally made it to my own USC TGLA table. I took a picture of Town and Gown scholar Emily Mojica with former USC TGLA President Terri Boyle.
6515
My sister Patti Poon and her husband Dudley Poon posed for me.
6517
Around the table were Sharon Schmidt and Jean Getchell.

video 4901video 4900After some short meeting matters, Town and Gown Vice President of Programs Debbie Wong introduced Michele Dedeaux Engemann, daughter of legendary USC Baseball Coach Rod Dedeaux. Michele thanked the Town and Gown Historian Committee for honoring her mother, talked about the selection of USC's baseball coach, and summarized last season's progress. Then she introduced our Keynote Speaker, USC Head Baseball Coach Andy Stankiewicz. Coach Andy spoke about his journey to becoming USC Head Baseball Coach and how the baseball program is run.

Thursday, September 7, 2023---USC TGLA Members at Alumni Association 100 Year Dinner

What a lovely evening for the Alumni Association 100 Year celebration at Founders Park. Trojan Candy arrived early for the event. I started taking pictures at the open bar area first. It was so nice to see friends from several USC organizations. Organizations that were represented were the USC Trojan Guild of Los Angeles, Town and Gown, USC Half Century Trojans, USC Alumni Helenes, USC Associates, Women of Troy, Cardinal and Gold, and USC Trojan League of Los Angeles.

Trojan Candy wrote the names of each person in a small notebook as I took each picture. Unfortunately, I have misplaced the notebook. I had waited to write this blog until I could find the notebook. However, it is still missing. So, I am posting some pictures that I took, and will add the names later when I find the notebook.

My last picture of the night was of Senior Cicero Aschieris on the big screen. Trojan Candy knows Cicero because he is both a USC Trojan Guild Scholar and a Half Century Trojan Scholar. FIGHT ON, Cicero!

What an exciting celebration!

ALUMNI, KEEP FIGHTING ON, FOREVER!
