Trojan Candy read in the L.A. Times and Orange County Register that my friend Taj Gibson just signed a two year $28M contract with the Minneapolis Timberwolves. Congratulations, Taj!
I first met Taj in 2007 when I volunteered in Heritage Hall. Taj would walk by the desk and never stop. That was until I decided to meet him myself. The next time he walked in the Heritage Hall door, I walked over to him and literally grabbed his hand and told him to come get a snack. At first hesitant, but then with a big smile, Taj came with me to the desk. My sister Pat and brother-in-law Dudley were volunteering with me that day. I hadn't started writing my blog yet, so unfortunately, I didn't take his picture or interview him.
On another day, I was all by myself volunteering. When Taj walked in the door and came to the desk to say, "Hello," he asked me, "Where's the rest of the gang?" Now, whenever I see Taj at a USC Men's Basketball game, I tell him, "The gang's still here!"
