Sunday, September 24, 2023---USC Women of Troy Volleyball vs Oregon State
The Galen Center was loud and energetic when my husband Jim and I hustled to our seats.
We went there for the women's volleyball match with Oregon State.
We were a little later than I had hoped, but I was still able to record the Star Spangled Banner.
Now, it was time to meet our team.
After a sideout, Senior Lindsey Miller served first for USC.
There was a quick team huddle after earning a point.
A team huddle was held during a timeout.
Back to the action, Sophomore Libero Gala Trubint was ready to serve.
Senior Skylar Fields waited to serve.
In this video, our Women of Troy beat the Oregon State Beavers 25-11.
There was a team huddle during a timeout of Set 2.
Several of our sideline players “danced” to the D.J.’s music as they waited for a decision on a challenged play.
Play resumed and our team was ready to receive the serve.
At the next break, the Spirit of Troy and the USC Song Girls entertained everyone.
In the second set, our Women of Troy came back from being down 6 to 10 to winning 25 to 19. Here is the winning point.
Highlights of Set 2 were shown on the big screen.
Our Spirit Leaders danced on the sideline.
In the third set, our team was ready to receive the serve.
Our graduate student Ellie Snook was ready to serve.
Freshman London Wijay served next.
Notice the difference in the size of our two sweepers!
Shortly after the celebration with the Spirit of Troy, Song Girls and Yell Leaders, the entire team walked out to the Hall of Fame for today's Autograph Session. Naturally, Trojan Candy walked out to take my own pictures.
There was already a long line of fans to get an autographed poster when Trojan Candy got out to the lobby.
Come meet the 2023 Women of Troy Volleyball Team:
Freshman London Wijay
Graduate student Ellie Snook
Sophomore Ellie Geoghegan
Isabel Fowlkes
Evan Wang and Megan Verbiest
Evan Wang, Lindsey Miller, and Katelyn Smith
Gala Trubint and Dani Thomas-Nathan
Skylar Fields and Kalyah Williams
Saturday, September 9, 2023---USC vs Stanford Football Game
Yesterday evening, Trojan Candy arrived barely in time for the Heritage Hall Football Rally before the Stanford football game, because the rally actually started 15 minutes early.
I spotted the honored USC football player. Here is #2 Brenden Rice as he spoke to the crowd.
When the Spirit of Troy started playing “Conquest,” Brenden climbed the ladder and held up the sword!
KEEP FIGHTING ON, Brenden!!!
Now, about the football game on Saturday....
My entire USC vs Stanford Football Game blog will be comprised of Coliseum Big Screen Videos. ENJOY!
USC won the toss and decided to receive the ball. Trojan Candy always records our first drive, because there is a good chance that we will score. I took these two videos of our first drive. We did score!
In the second half, Miller Moss came in as the quarterback and would play the rest of the game. Every one of our players would play in the game.
Then, our Three Time Champion Beach Volleyball Team was honored again.
Miller Moss scored our last touchdown of the day in the fourth quarter.
The final score of the game was USC 56 – Stanford 10!
What a FANtasic game!
KEEP FIGHTING ON, USC FOOTBALL!
