Trojan Candy and my husband Jim arrived early at the Embarcadero Plaza for our USC Spirit of Troy Stanford Football Game Rally. We staked out a place where we thought I would have the best view for taking videos.
Trojan Candy and my husband Jim arrived at 11:30 am at the Los Angeles Coliseum where the USC football team would play its first game with Rice University in the afternoon. We walked to the Fan Fest to try to get some free items. I got a clear plastic bag and another clear plastic hip purse. Thank you!
I just happened to look to my left, and there they were...our four team buses turned into the Coliseum driveway. Trojan Candy took this video of the USC coaches and players getting off the busses. Our coaches were in Bus 1.
Then, Jim and I visited Ryan Abraham’s tailgate which was near the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Even though we were able to sit under a tent, it was so HOT! Trojan Candy went to say, “Hello” To Ryan.
After sitting down in comfortable chairs, I started talking to the Trojan sitting to my left. His name was Mike and he told me that he and his family live in Long Beach. Naturally, I took a picture of Mike and his family. They were daughter Annie, Mike, and wife Karen.
Then Jim and I decided to walk to the Coliseum.
After our team returned to the locker room, the Rice University Band performed. Because Trojan Candy was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and my dad, Charlie Chan, attended Rice, I knew what to expect from the Rice Owl’s Band. The Rice Band is the ORIGINAL Stanford Band! Here is a video of their shenanigans. As expected they were booed off the field.
We won our first football game of 2022 by a big margin.
After the game ended, our Spirit of Troy played “Conquest” and the entire team walked over to the band. #7 DB Calen Bullock stood on the ladder and held up the sword as he directed the Spirit of Troy. FIGHT ON, Calen!
What an exciting first game!
FIGHT ON, USC Football!
Trojan Candy and my husband Jim arrived at the Loker Track Stadium where the Pep Rally for tomorrow's football game was to be held.
