Saturday, August 31, 2019---USC Football vs. Fresno State
My husband Jim and I arrived at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for the Fresno State football game an hour before game time.
The Coliseum entry at gate 4 that we have entered for over forty years was different.
Here is one of the three screens above the Coliseum seats.
It also showed our opponents.
Here is our 2019 USC Football Team warming up.
India Anderson, the first female Drum Major of the Spirit of Troy, marched out to the center of the field and thrust her sword into the turf.
Next, the Spirit of Troy marched onto the field.
The big screen honored two famous Trojans---Jim Hardy and Mike McGee.
After the "Moment of Silence," Trojan Candy looked up into the sky again as the band played our National Anthem. Another fabulous fly over!
This is our first 2019 Kickoff by Alex Stadthaus and defensive play.
Ben Griffiths made our first punt of 2019.
Chase McGrath kicked the first Field Goal of the game in the second quarter.
In a break of the action, our 2018 NCAA National Champion USC Men's Water Polo Team was honored.
Soon after, our 2018 NCAA National Champion Women of Troy Individual Track and Field ladies were introduced.
Now, it was half time. The Fresno State Band performed first.
Then, the Spirit of Troy performed their "Hollywood Bowl" program. It was marvelous!
Right before halftime, our starting quarterback J.T. Daniels was hurt. Freshman Kedon Slovis came in to replace J.T., and in the second half Kedon was very energetic.
Our team was leading 31-13 near the end of Quarter 3.
Then, we "Fought On" in the fourth quarter with an outstanding interception by Isaiah Pola-Mao in our end zone and won 31-23!
Fight On, USC Football!
