Trojan Candy has been fortunate to photograph and/or interview eighteen USC Trojans who are competing in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics.
Here are their pictures. Click on their name (in blue) to read about their interview or event.
There are twenty-five more USC Rio bound Olympians whom I have never photographed, and they are
Good Luck to these forty-four Trojans and FIGHT ON to a Gold Medal! If any more are added, I will add them to this list.
Trojan Candy has known Tony Fox for over twenty years. I met him when my son Greg started taking weekly composition lessons from him. I would drive Greg to the USC Band Office for the weekly lessons. After the hour lesson, Tony, Greg and I would talk about "Life Lessons." Tony taught my son more than composition. He helped to build his character.
Since I started writing my blog about nine years ago, I have taken several pictures of Tony over the years. Here are the pictures.
My husband Jim, my son Greg, and I had lunch with Tony and his wife Nolcha on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The five of us spent two hours talking about fond memories. Tony told us about his new home in Wyoming. He will probably be volunteering with their high school band very quickly. We saw pictures of his and Nolcha's cozy home. What a great new experience for the two of them!
On Sunday, April 17th, we had to share Tony with a "full house" of admirers. Everyone came to the concert in Bovard Auditorium to honor Tony and give him a rousing ovation. Tony's scores were magnificent!
At the end of the concert, the Spirit of Troy marched in for a pep rally in Tony's honor.
What a tribute!
Some of the audience joined Tony in a post-concert reception. Outside Bovard, Trojan Candy took this picture of Greg, Tony and Nolcha.
At the reception, Tony came to our table to say hello. Standing: Jim, Candy, and Greg Yee, Tony Fox, Mike Valerio, Pat and Dudley Poon. Sitting: three guests and Lois Valerio.
We'll all miss you, Tony!
Enjoy your retirement and FIGHT ON!
