Trojan Candy made it into the Galen Center Founder's Room in time to hear Coach Tony Bland speak to the Trojan basketball fans about our team. When asked about our free throw performance, Coach Bland said that we would shoot 90% free throws. That would be nice! When Coach Bland finished his "Chalk Talk," he told us that one of his good friends was in the audience. It was USC basketball alumnus David Blu (10/28/2012). Most Trojan fans know him as David Bluthenthal. David is Trojan Candy's friend, too! I walked to the rear of the Founder's Room to find him, and there he was talking with friend Sam Chu, who was a USC men's basketball student manager when David was a Freshman. David played at USC in 1998 to 2001 under Coach Henry Bibby. In his Senior year, USC made it to the Final Eight! David brought his cute four year old son Baron to the game. David told me that he works for Merrill Lynch Money Management and that he works out at the L.A. Athletic Club. So nice to visit with him again. FIGHT ON, David!
Here are some pictures of our team as they shot free throws near the end of the game.
Our men shot 51.7% in field goals and 86.5% in free throws for the game. Coach Bland predicted well! We beat 1st place Washington 98 to 88!
After our victory, the men high-fived the fans seated around the court. Check out this video and look who posed for a picture with the team.
Did you see Trojan Candy's friend and USC basketball alumnus Taj Gibson (12/28/2008)? FIGHT ON, Taj!
FIGHT ON, Men of Troy Basketball and SWEEP the Bruins!
